The January thaw has ended, but increased rates and miles are still here. The ELD Mandate has been in effect for a month and a half, and the Dow Jones remains over 26,000!
At Tenpoint Expediting we have seen solid steady growth over the month of January. A few records have even been broken. This has been our highest grossing month in our six years of existence, and we have also set a new record for the highest grossing team straight truck. We fully expect this trend to continue. If you have ever thought about getting into expedite trucking, the time is now. Straight trucks are commanding strong rates and getting a lot of miles. Our highest grossing team unit made $29,522.57 to the truck! Solo trucks are still doing well and averaging $9,000-$10,000. Sprinters are hanging in there, rates are not changing much but there seems to be more loads available than usual. We are expecting increases in the near future, but time will tell. With the tightening capacity and rising rates, you will surely want to be leased on to a carrier that uses a percentage based pay system. This way you are able to capitalize when rates go up. As always, you have to be in service to make money. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you. We are sticking to our core mission here of developing the MOST successful drivers, owner-operators, and fleet owners in the expediting industry and we are making strides every day.
